Heart diseases or Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the most common reasons for deaths across the globe. The diseases originate in the cardiovascular system which is composed of heart and blood vessels. Excessive fat in the human body gets bonded with minerals and metals such as Calcium, Iron, Copper, Lead and Aluminium, etc. Then, it gets deposited in the form of plaques in the blood vessels and leads to atherosclerosis and/or arteriosclerosis. To treat these diseases, major bypass surgeries and invasive procedures are done which are expensive and critical. Chelation therapy for heart block has been widely studied across the world and has received positive reviews.

Now, the modern lifestyle has led to widespread penetration of metals and toxic materials in the foods and liquids we consume. Most of the people living in big cities and metro areas are suffering from passive metal poisoning because of the high pollution levels. The pollutants enter our bodies via food, air and water. The industrial wastes are generally dumped into the rivers and gradually find their ways into our bodies. These wastes have lots of harmful chemicals and heavy metals which lead to poisoning and critical diseases. While it is inevitable to avoid ambient pollution, the regular detox done via natural substances surely helps in borderline health management.

The health-conscious people try to go for detox to get rid of all these metals and toxins from our bodies. Chelation is one of such detox processes by which we can remove the excessive metal deposits from our bodies. Chelation is also being used for treating heart diseases these days. In the following sections, we are going to discuss chelation therapy for heart diseases and its effectiveness. Let us begin by understanding the term chelation therapy.

Chelation Therapy for Heart Block – An Overview

Chelation stands for ‘grabbing’ in Greek and the name exactly defines the way a chelating agent works. In chelation therapy, a chelate – EDTA or Ethylene Diamine Tetra-Acetic Acid is used to remove toxic heavy metals from the body. EDTA effectively removes heavy metals like lead, mercury, and cadmium from the body via the urinary pathway. Studies have shown that chelation therapy reduces the risk of CVDs by 18%.

In chelation therapy, the EDTA binds to Calcium present in the plaques located in the arteries. This allows the plaques to be swept away and removed via urine. This, in turn, restores the elasticity of arteries and increases the blood flow to the brain as well. As a result, the cognitive processes of the human body are improved.

Studies have shown that EDTA has positive effects on many other critical conditions such as diabetes, fibromyalgia, peripheral neuropathy, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, porphyria, thyroid diseases and auto-immune disorders. Hence, all in all, EDTA therapy is a boon for the human body and helps in tackling critical diseases.

How Chelation Therapy Works?

Chelation therapy for Heart Block - Working Prinicple

In the chelation therapy, EDTA is inserted in the human body via the IV drip. Once it enters the bloodstream, EDTA binds with the heavy metals present in the body and Calcium present in the plaques. Once the plaques get bonded with the chelating agent, it gets removed from the arteries along with the heavy metals and is removed from the body via the urinary passage.

The study results are impressive and have shown that chelation therapy has led to a reduction in the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Effectiveness of Chelation Therapy for Heart Diseases

Chelate infusions have been administered on patients that have suffered from heart attacks, strokes, and coronary revascularization etc. The infusions are done in multiples and the data has shown that patients had reduced risks of heart diseases.

Chelation Therapy for Heart Blocks – Patients with diabetes:

The researchers have carried out studies on heart patients with diabetes and have found the following:

  •  Diabetes patients that were given chelation therapies had a lower risk of heart-related diseases such as, heart attack, hospitalization for angina, coronary revascularization, or stroke.
  • The cardiovascular diseases happened in 25% of diabetic patients who received EDTA chelation. 38% of diabetic patients who received a placebo reported cardiovascular events. Also, deaths from any other cause were 43% lower in patients with diabetes that received chelation.
  • Patients that did not have diabetes didn’t show a reduction in cardiovascular events after the administration of chelation therapy.

So, all in all, the chelation therapy for heart block has considerable research data to support itself. The therapy is being administered across a number of reputed naturopathy hospitals, Ayurvedic institutions and other related health centres. However, we recommend consulting experts from some reputed medical institutions for the best results.

Before you finalize a doctor or clinic, you must share your disease history and information about the other medication or diseases that you have. The effect of chelation therapy might vary across the patients because of the extent of the disease and their medical history. Chelation therapy has no side-effects as such and suits people from all age groups.

We hope this write-up offers helpful information to all the readers and they opt for chelation therapy.
